Funeral services for Lorene Proske, 88, of Lincoln, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Lorene Annie Proske was born on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1930. She was the middle child of seven born to her parents, Charles and Ida (Umlang) Boriack. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John Lutheran Church of Lincoln where she was a life long member. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school for many years.

She married Fred Foerster on November 7, 1948. He passed away May 15, 1965. They had two children, Barbara and Kenneth. Lorene married Lawrence Proske on April 12, 1967 in a private ceremony in the home of his nephew, Bob and Claudine Little, in Lockhart, Texas. They had one son, Brendon, who was tragically taken from this world at the young age of 23.

Lorene was a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She made sure that she made a quilt for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her past time was playing dominoes or cards and most of all fishing.

Lorene passed away the morning of Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Bec's Blessing in Serbin, Texas.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence Proske of Lincoln; daughter, Barbars (Foerster) Markert and her husband, Edward of Lincoln; son, Kenneth Foerster and his wife, Barbara of Lexington; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; Stephen Markert and his wife, Traci and their children, Lauren, Jacob and Kyle of Raymond, Ohio, Gregory Foerster and his wife, Krista and their children, Juliana and Luke of Exeter, New Hampshire, Susan Markert of Lincoln, Kimberly (Foerster) McKinney and her husband, Zach and their sons, Tripp, Cannon, Collin, Pierce and Jett of Damon, Texas and Shannon Markert of Austin; sister, Jeanette Knippa of Lincoln; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Irene Boriack of Lincoln, Evelyn Boriack of Lincoln, Charlie and Annette Foerster of Lincoln, Annie Machado of Austin, Gilbert Proske of Washington and Jake Laborde of Austin; and her caring and loving family of Bec's Blessing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ida Boriack; first husband, Fred Foerster; son, Brendon Ray Proske; brothers, Clarence Boriack and his wife, Edna, Martin Boriack, Richard Boriack, Herbert Boriack and Howard Boriack and his wife, Frieda; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Kelley, Rudy Knippa, Eileen Moritz and her husband, Ray, Rosalee Backhus and her husband, Melvin, Robert Foerster and his wife, Ruby, Willie Foerster, Ludwig Foerster, Frank Machado, Norbert Proske and his wife, Lucille, Elton Proske and his wife, Isabelle, Agatha Little and her husband, Earl, Renatha Jatzlau and her husband, Adolph, Elphera Urban and her husband, Lawrence, Fred Proske, Sybil Proske and Rosie Laborde.

Special thanks to Bec's Blessing and Resolutions Hospice on the care they so willingly gave during her last years of earthly life.
