Dr. Blackmon was born on November 13, 1938 in Jessieville, AR and passed away on December 10, 2018 in Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tillmon and Dolly Blackmon; first wife, Mary Ann Blackmon; and sister, Lee Blackmon. Dr. Blackmon was an emergency room physician at St. Francis Medical Center for 27 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and dear friend to all who met him.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Blackmon; two children, Mary Blackmon and Doug Blackmon and wife Marcy; two stepsons, James Holloway and wife Sierra, and Adam Holloway; six grandchildren, Colin Blackmon, Dylan Blackmon, Cooper Holloway, Paisley Holloway, Levi Holloway, and Olivia Holloway; and a nephew, Garry Abbott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ed Worley and Bobby Bentz.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM prior to the service at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
