Mr. Masters was born Jan. 16, 1924 in Buncombe County. He was a county all-star basketball player. He was a veteran of World War II. Albert was a member of Post #2 American Legion and VFW Post 891, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was the son of the late Sam Albert Masters and Pearl Jonson Masters.
Surviving is his son, Albert Masters Jr. of Arden, sisters, Gaynelle Haynes and Nancy Keith, four grandchildren, one niece and five nephews.
