Lewis Harrigfeld Williams, 92, of Boise, Idaho passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family, on December 4, 2018, after a long courageous battle with cancer Lew was the first born child of Lewis Morris Williams and Clara Harrigfeld. He was born in Boise, Idaho during a family trip his parents had taken from eastern Idaho. He grew up in the Eastern Idaho area living in many different towns. He lived in Ashton, Rigby, Rexburg. He was very active in school and other activities he was in 4-H, and competed in sports. He was a State Champion in Track, he lettered in track, basketball, football and played saxophone in the band. He was also a great friend to his younger brother Brian and their dog Tiny Tim.

Lew graduated from Rigby High School and joined the military. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. After his honorable release he attended the University of Idaho and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture. He completed a Masters Degree at Oregon State and then served an honorable mission for Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Zealand.

Lew married Betty Ricks on June 13, 1960 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They lived in Seattle, Washington their first year of Marriage while Lew completed Dental School at the University of Washington. In 1961 after getting his DDS they moved to Boise and made it their final stopping ground. They had seven children; Vickie, Annette, LuAnn, Ricks, Karann, Brian, Carolyn.

He served as Assistant County Agent in Bonneville county specifically over 4-h and upon completing dental school started his own dental practice in 1961. He taught all 7 children the benefits of work as he had all of them work at the dental office in Jr High and High School. His wife Betty worked there several years and they retired together. He was known for quality, gentle and compassionate care of his patients.

A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served honorable and well in many callings, from bishopric, home teacher, Financial Clerk, Sunday School President, and as a Temple worker for 18+ years.

Lew was a kind and caring husband and father. He was a lifelong learner, after being retired took a master gardening class as the family backyard grew smaller and the garden grew larger, his children joked about being the only city kids that rotated crops. Lew loved to serve others, something his family and friends observed daily.

His is survived by his wife Betty, brother Brian C. (Jodi), Children; Vickie (John) Smith their children Jessica (Sean) Graham, Ariel (Ian) Jameson (son Eli) Bethany and daughter Lana, Josh Smith, Jacob Smith, Siriah Smith, Benjamin Smith, Christana Smith Annette (Gary) Glenn and their children Heston (Celeste) Glenn (their children Sophia, Connie, Michael Jubilee) R. Harrison (Elizabeth) Glenn (daughter Mila), Hunter Glenn (daughter Lily), Reagan Glenn Rios (Alejandro-Alex), T. Jefferson Glenn LuAnn (Dave) Hodson (their children Nathael (Mesha) Hodson and Aurora Hodson) Ricks (his children: Lewis S, Keturah, Justin, Annie, Lindy and Noel) Karann (Sam) Chew (their children: Amanda Drake (son Kaleb), Scott Drake, Lance Drake (Wife Emma), Steven Drake, Samantha Chew, Samuel Drake Brian (Kristi) Williams (their children Tabitha, Kenneth, Samantha, Michael) Carolyn (Jeremy) Whitmore (their children Corey, Nathan, Austin, Ryan and Kaylee) Many more nieces, nephew and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December, 15, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at, 6711 Northview St. Boise, Idaho the service will start at 12 Noon with a viewing before starting at 11 a.m. There will also be a time to visit will the family on Friday Dec 14 from 5:30 to 7 PM at the same church location.
