Vonda Maddox (née Carroll) lost her battle with Alzheimer’s at Legacy Rehabilitation and Living on December 7, 2018 in Amarillo, TX at the age of 77.
Vonda is survived by her husband Monty Maddox and sons, Lance Maddox of Frisco, TX and Lyle Maddox of Houston, TX.
Vonda was born on November 1, 1941 in Hereford, TX to Alvian and Anna Lee Carroll. She graduated from Borger High School in 1960. She married Monty Maddox her high school sweetheart in 1960. After moving to Dumas, TX, Vonda worked various jobs before she and Monty purchased the Sears Catalog Store in 1976, which she managed until it was sold in 1987. In 1987, Vonda went to work as an executive secretary at Diamond Shamrock, where she worked until she retired in 1995. In 1998, the couple moved to Amarillo to begin their retirement years.
Memorial services will be at 2 pm Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
