Mr. Rooker served two years in the United States Army during the Korean War. Robert was a lifelong believer of the Baptist faith and lived as a Christian, man of God. He enjoyed watching westerns, the news, gospel singing, and listening to gospel music. He loved to watch the birds and deer out of his kitchen window. Robert earned the nickname "Bullet", because he was always in a hurry.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 6 pm-8 pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Ashbank Church Cemetery in Nauvoo, Alabama.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Billie Harper and her husband Don. He was known as "Paw Paw" to 4grandchildren, Pam Harper, Teresa Harper and Misty Stidham, Josh (Susan) Harper and Jeremy Collins; great grandchildren, Brooke (Brandon) Davis, April (Nick) Key, Tony, Gabe, Grayson, and Justina (Nick); and 5 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Rooker; daughters, Evelyn Faye Coleman, and Patricia Ann Collins; grandson, Virgil Collins; parents, James P.W. and Gradie Rooker; brothers, Charles Rooker, James Rooker, William Zeke Rooker, and Calvin Rooker; sisters, Connie Graff, and Maddie Powell.
