PATRICK HAYES
(1871-1954)
Patrick (Pat) Hayes, 82, died Sunday at 1:12 a.m. at his home on South St., Wheelersburg. Death was attributed to a heart condition.
Mr. Hayes was a retired barber.
He was born Sept. 21, 1871, at Langley, Ky., a son of Eperson and Katherine Sutton Hayes. He was married in 1892 to Rose Anne Bentley who survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Rudolph of Portsmouth, Va., Ishmael of Ironton, Humbert, Paris and Harold, all of Dayton; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis Pennington of Wheelersburg, Mrs. C.E. Ferguson of Detroit, and Miss Bessie Hayes of Dayton; two brothers, Garrett of Langley, and Grover of Mousie, Ky.; three sisters, Mrs. Georgia Martin of Mousie, KY, and Mrs. George Baldridge and Mrs. Marion Wicker of Langley; 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The parents, three brothers, and two sisters, preceded in death.
Mr. Hayes was a member of Ohio Valley Untied Baptist Church and services will be conducted there at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Sandy Phillips and Paul Turner will officiate with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Emrick Funeral Home. The body is at the residence.
