Bernard Troy Umphres, 82, of George West, passed away on November 20, 2018 following a short illness. He was born on January 4, 1936 in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Thomas Jefferson Umphres and Ada Bernice Johnson Umphres. He spent most of his childhood in George West, Texas. He moved to Duncan, Arizona in his early teens where he met the love of his life, Mary Ann McCarty. They were married on his eighteenth birthday, January 4, 1954 in Solomon, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mary Ann; one son, Bernard Troy Umphres Jr.; one granddaughter, Rebekah Jo McFadden; his parents; one brother, Thomas Jefferson Umphres Jr.; and two sisters Barbara Faye and JoAnn.
He is survived by three sisters Lillian Norman, Ada Faye Harvey and Debbie Cothern; one brother Mitchell and Karen Umphres, and his children Dave and Donna McFadden, Rocky and Cindy Umphres, Roy and Patsy Vaughan, & Rusty and Kim Umphres; his grandchildren: Josh and Tiffany McFadden, Jeremy and Jill Janes; Joni Umphres, Dusty and Katie Umphres, Brady and Deanna Atkinson, Travis and Cathy Vaughan, James and Codi Malone, Jeff and Tenisha Fell, Kashlee Blanton, Tyrell Umphres, Boone Umphres; along with 22 great-grandchildren who will love and miss him dearly.
A private family service and private family burial at Duncan, Arizona will be at a later date.
