Henry Furman Roof, 70, of 53 Hope Ferry Road, Lexington, died Monday. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late John J. and Lillie Gartman Roof. He was a World War II Army veteran, retired from Pioneer Fence Co., and was a member of Mount Hebron United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Nadine Wood Roof; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Waters of Leesville; sons, Thomas, Howard and Richard Roof, all of Lexington, and Furman Roof of Pelion; sisters, Mrs. Leola Ivey and Mrs. Olive Nix, both of Lexington, and Mrs. Lessie Kaminer of Irmo, and a brother, Clinton Roof of Lexington. Service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
