He was retired from LG&E, Louisville, with 28 years of service, a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #2100, Louisville, a member of Harrison Masonic Lodge #122 F&AM, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was an avid camper who was camping-when stricken ill.
He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Les Jones, and sister-in-law, Julie Jones, a niece and three nephews.
Mr. Jones is survived by his-wife, Patsy Jones; four children, Cheryll Sinnett, Ekron, Theresa Keen, Henderson, Julia Gish, Owensboro, and Marvin Howard Jones Jr., Brandenburg; six stepchildren, Vickie Outland, Darlene Farmer and Dee Frank, all of Brandenburg, Ricky Wardrip, Texas, Jimmy Wardrip, Florida, and Susan Rhodes, Ekron; a sister, Julia Rhae Brown, Brandenburg; a brother, Harry E. Jones, Brandenburg; four grandchildren, a great-grandchild and eight step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held October 22 from Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Delores Murphy officiating. Interment was in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Scotty Batchelder, Sean Hagan, Lloyd Brown, Troy Jones, William T. Jones and James A. Wilkins.
