His first wife was Lena May Simpson Alcorn. She was a wonderful woman, strong and proud. She raised all of the children basically by herself.

They had one daughter, Phyllis Salmans Hobart and five sons, Russell, Raymond, Clifford, Glenn and Eugene.

He married Bessie Mae McGowan July 3, 1958 at Miami, Oklahoma.

He was a farmer in Cherokee County, Kansas.

He is survived by wife, Bessie; five sons, Russell, Raymond, Clifford, Glenn and Eugene; one daughter, Phyllis; two brothers, Lloyd and Hubert; four sisters; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
