Larry Baze, 57, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Carlsbad Medical Center.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. today (Aug. 7) at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Philip Lairson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, N.M. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Larry Baze was born Sept. 6, 1954, in Brownfield, Texas, to Ira B. and Georgie M. (Sims) Baze. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for three years.

Larry worked in the oil field more than 35 years in Southeast New Mexico and West Texas. He worked for Haliburton and currently Gandy Corporation.

Larry married Linda Robertson on Sept. 29, 1984, in Carlsbad, N.M. He loved riding his motorcycle, fishing and watching TV, but most importantly, spending time with his family.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Ira B. Baze; sister, Dolores Cole; and grandparents: Bay and Alta Sims and Burt and Florence Baze.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Baze of Carlsbad, N.M.; daughter, Wendy Hardin and husband, Don of Carlsbad, N.M.; grandson, Ruben Graham of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Georgie Baze of Seminole, Texas; sister, Patricia Marquez and husband, Jimmy of Midland, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and extended family.
