William Butts, 78, Dies at Charleston. Special to the Journal Gazette. CHARLESTON, Ill. William Butts. 78-year-old retired railroader, died Wednesday in the Wickham Nursing home here where he had been a patient for a year. The body is in the Harper- Swickard funeral home. where arrangements are incomplete.
Mr. Butts was born March 8, 1880 in Fountain County, Indiana, a son of Thomas and Mary A. Leighty Butts. He leaves his wife. Armilda, a patient in the Adkins nursing home; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Maxman of Richmond, Va.; a step-daughter. Mrs. Myrtle Wolfe. Flat Rock: a step-son, Fulmer Kiger of Vincennes, In.; two brothers, Sherman and Hurley Butts, Fithian; and two sisters Mrs. Rubv Jenkins of Fithian and Mrs. Goldie Cronk of Veedersburg. Ind.
Before entering the nursing homes, Mr. and Mrs. Butts lived on a farm near Charleston.
