Clara was born to Warren and Lulu Ballard on January 24, 1925, in Holt City, Nebraska.
As a teenager, Clara helped her older brother with haying around Bassett, Nebraska. She then worked at the University of Nebraska in the Ag Department for around 20 years. After that, she worked for the Dean of The Engineering College. Clara also worked at the State House of Nebraska doing record keeping.
In 1958, Clara married Max King. They were blessed with a child a few years later.
She enjoyed going to auctions, gardening, sewing, raising chickens, and collecting antiques.
Clara B. King, 93, passed away November 27, 2018, at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Hugo, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max King.
Left to cherish her memory are son Leroy, sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Arriba, Colorado. The family requests that memorials in her name be given to North East Lincoln Fire Protection District at 218 Elm Street, Arriba, Colorado 80804.
