Shirley Ann Devers, age 88 of Nerinx, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was born August 15, 1930 in New Hope to the late William Dennis and Mary Ellen Masterson Devers. She was a former educator. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Lois Jean Richardson, Dorothy Howell, Elizabeth Jane Harris, Eugenia Anderson and infant Maria Goretti Devers; five brothers, William Paul, Joseph Newman, Donnie, Dennis Jr. and infant Douglas McArthur Devers. Survivors include one sister, one brother, a number of nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 3, 2018 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 104 Church Street, New Hope. Burial will follow in Nazareth Cemetery. Rev. Ken Fortener will preside and Deacon Jim Cecil will assist. Visitation is 4-8 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by Rev. Matthew Hardesty.
