Madison - Mrs. Mildred M. (Martin F.) Fritz, age 78, 121 South Brittingham Place, died Wednesday, February 1, 1984, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born November 18, 1905, in Mattoon, Illinois.
She was Valedictorian of Syracuse High School Class of Syracuse, Kansas. She attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas and was an honor graduate from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa with a B.S. degree in History.
Mrs. Fritz was the former Mildred Baker and married Fritz on August 30, 1925 in Syracuse, Kansas. Mrs. Fritz was an Ames, Iowa resident from 1927 to 1981 when they moved to Madison. She was Wire Editor of the Ames Daily Tribune. She was a member of the Faculty Womens Club of Iowa State University and active in the Republican Party of Iowa. She was instrumental in starting the Eisenhower Campaign for President in Iowa.
She is survived by her husband, Martin F.; a son, Kentner V. and daughter-in-law, Linda of Madison; and three sisters, Mrs. Sue Josties of Sterling, Colorado, Mrs. Lella Woody of Laramie, Wyoming, Mrs Ruth Kennedy of Medford, Oregon. Funeral services will be held at the Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd. on Saturday, February 4, 1984, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Stanley S. Klyve officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
