Rev. Joseph Barney died at his home at Clearville from apoplexy on Thursday, May 18, about midnight,aged 79 years and 11 months. Mr. Barney was born in Fulton County June 19, 1831. He joined the Christian Church when a boy and was ordained a minister in 1860. During his ministry he traveled
through parts of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia conducting revival meetings and meetIng with much success in the work. He was a minister for about fifty-four years, though for the past three years he has not been able to preach. He is survived by his wife and two sons; Luther of Clearville and Howard of Dubois. Two brothers, Rev. John H Barney of Clearville and Jacob of Kansas.
