Fred S. Neff Taken By Death

Fred S. Neff, 77, died unexpectedly at his home late Saturday afternoon, September 8.
He was born July 24, 1885, in Henry county, the son of David S. and Margaret Ann Kurtz Neff.
He was married to Esther Lupton, who preceded him in death.
On February 14, 1941, he married Alice Maxine Sinn, who survives.
Of this union was born one son, Fred Allen Neff of Mt. Pleasant and one infant daughter who is predeceased as are his parents.
Also surviving are three brothers, Henry, William and Frank Neff, all of Wayland, and one sister, Mrs. Ernest (Bessie) Ziekelfoose of Brighton.
Five sisters and two brothers also preceded him in death.
Mr. Neff had farmed north of Mt. Pleasant the past 20 years. He was a member of the Cottonwood United Brethren Church.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, at the Cottonwood Church, with the Reverends Delane Stephens and Herbert R. Dymale officiating.
Interment will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery.
The body is at the home where it will lie in state until late Tuesday morning, at which time it will be taken to the church for the services.
Weir-Cookes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
