Mr. Bayer is survived by his wife , Esther A. Pionk Bayer, at home; two daughters, Linda L. Seacat and Leslie A. Flanagan, both of Ridgefield; one son, Dennis L. of Seattle; one sister, Pauline Pierce of Winlock, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Bayer was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Toledo, Wash., and was married in Vancouver Dec. 20, 1951. He was a member of Vancouver Elks Lodge 823, the American Legion, Smith-Reynolds Post 14, St. James Catholic Church and the Operating Engineers Union, Local 701, in Portland.
Rosary will begin at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
