Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am, Wednesday from the McCrery Funeral Home 2700 WAshington St, for William H. Stapleton, 82 of 219 W. 29th St., who died Saturday at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Laura F. Stapleton who died in 1933.
Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am in Christ Our King Church. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow evening after 7.
Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, he moved to Bear with his parents when he was 5 years old. Later, he moved to Wilmington. He was retired Pennsylvania Railroad Company Engineer.
He was a Parishioner of Christ Our King Church. mr. Stapleton was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and of the pension association of the brotherhood.
Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Harriet Phillips, at home; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
