Our mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, daughter and friend, Esther Jean Montano (Jeanie), passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 1998. She died due to complications of scleroderma.
Jean was born June 5, 1944 in Truchas, New Mexico, to Simon and Shonita Martinez Cordova. She was raised in Bingham Canyon, Utah and graduated from Bingham High School. She married Richard Montano, later divorced.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Tim) Allen and Loretta Montano; two grandsons, Richard and Dominic; parents; brothers, Bernie (Jeanette), Lolo (Virginia), Henry; sisters, Prescilla Miya and Sylvia (Ralph) Serrano; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral Mass, Monday, April 13, 1998, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 South 1700 West. Holy Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 p.m. at Goff Mortuary , 8090 So. State, where friends may call Sunday 6-7 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
She was our care giver and our strength. We will miss her all of our days.
