Catherine died 15 days after giving birth. Shortly afterwards, her youngest two (of five) children went to Wabasha, Minnesota to live. Philip DeWitt Abrahamsen was raised by Catherine's sister, Sarah (McMillin) Sullivan and her husband, Daniel. Phoebe Catherine Abrahamsen was raised by Catherine's sister, Margaret (McMillin) Smith and her husband, Philip.
