Born March 15, 1923, Hollis, Okla., to H. L. and Ruth Nix Abernethy, Married Glenna Marie Tucker 1950, Tucumcori, N.M.; later divorced, Veteran WWII; member Salt Lake County Sheriff's Mounted Posse; member Kearns Baptist Church, International Association of Bridge Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers Union, 26 years.
Survivors: sons, daughters, Glenn, Terry, Mrs. Rick (Darlene) Holdbrook, Michael, all of Salt Lake City; Kevin J., Jeffery, Sherri T., all of West Jordan; four grandchildren; parents, Bennion; brothers, Fred E., Steven, both of Bennion; Dennis L. Salt Lake City.
Funeral Monday, 3 p.m., 4330 S. Redwood, where friends can call Sunday, 6-8 p.m., and Monday one hour before services.
