RUTH KATHLEEN (WALKER) HATCHER ~ (28 May 1924~15 May 2002)

She is the daughter of the late Hubert Andrew Walker and Nannie Elizabeth [Sarver] Walker.

She died Wednesday, May 15, 2002 following a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born May 28, 1924 in Sullivan, West Virginia.

She attended Pine Lodge Chapel and was a sales clerk for G.C. Murphy Company and E.M. Payne Company. She was also a self-employed seamstress working with the Slack Rack and Gentry's. She also enjoyed doing crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis Hatcher; a brother, Hubert 'Mack' Walker; and a sister, Wanda Fortner.

Survivors, a son, Rick Fortner (wife Linda); two daughters, Linda Wood (husband David) and Kathleen Massey Brewster; two step-daughters, Lynn Govenor and Linda Ellis; a brother, Jack Walker (wife Phyllis); a sister, Ethel Blevins; six grand-children; and nine great-grand-children.

Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel at Prosperity, West Virginia with Brothers David Moter and Randy Smithson officiating. Entombment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Faith at Prosperity, West Virginia.
