BILLY K. CLARK, 58, of Palmer, Alaska, died April 4, 2007, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. His ashes were scattered at P.K. Lake in Texas.

Billy was born September 5, 1948, in Cisco, Texas. He was a graduate of Ranger High School and attended two years at Ranger Junior College in Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy until the early 1970's, returned home and was a lab technician for Dr. Gohlke for several years. Billy still played his music and had several clubs. He was a self employed musician, singer, songwriter and played with various bands in the Mat-Su Valley. He had earned a musical scholarship to Ranger Junior College playing trumpet and percussion. He learned some of his talent from the best by doing shows with John Anderson, Cathy Twitty, Hank Jr., Willie and others. Back home in Texas, Billy is best remembered for the band "Sassafrass." His hobbies and special interests were family, music and camping.

Billy is survived by his life partner, Carrie Williams of Palmer; son, Zach Clark of Wasilla; daughters, Kady and Kichele Clark of Palmer; sister, Paula Clark (RHS-1971) of Big Lake; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Clark in 1976, and his mother, Mary Clark in 1990.
