RECENT DEATHS. Mrs. Mary Etta Manson, aged 71 years, died at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday evening at the family residence, 802 Elk street, following an illness of four months resulting from a stroke on February 24. She had been ill ever since, but her death at this time was unanticipated.
Mrs. Manson, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Ross, was born in Rockland township on April 13, 1859, and resided there until 11 years ago, when she became a resident of Franklin. On August 29, 1878, she was married to the late James Miller Manson, who died on May 19, 1916.
Surviving her are the following children : H. C. Manson, of Brownsville, O. ;
C. E. Manson, of Fredonla, N Y. ; George M. Manson, of Wellington, Kan. ; Mrs. J. E. Mortimer, of Warren, O.; Mrs. Robert Mc-Cracken, of Sugarcreek ; Mrs. H. O. Trace, of Franklin ; Mrs. M. R, Meck-ley, of Franklin, and Mrs. Paul Kiskadden and Miss Ella F. Manson, at home ; one brother, H. L. Ross, of Bakersfleld, Cal., and one sister, Mrs. J. E. Bell, of Pittsfleld, also survive the deceased.
A brief service will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The body will then be taken to the Rockland Methodist Episcopal church, where further services will be held at 3 o'clock. The burial will be in the Rockland cemetery. Mrs. Manson was a faithful member of the Gleaners class at the First Evangelical church, a devoted homemaker and a neighbor who stood high in the esteem of a wide circle of friends.
