GREENVILLE, SC - Preston J. Kestner, 85, of 207 Viewmont Drive, died January 16, 2003, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Washington County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Thomas and Lillie Mae Davenport Kestner. He served in the U.S. Army, World War II, and was retired from Woodside Mills. Mr. Kestner was a member of Reedy River Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his first wife, Annie Ward Kestner.
Surviving are his wife, Grace Hester Kestner, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Letha K. and Jerry Smith, of Taylors; a stepson, Daniel Hester, and his wife, Nancy, of Greenville; two sisters, Effie Brown of Mauldin and Marjorie Cooper of Greenville; a brother, the Rev. Smith Kestner, of Kingsport, Tennessee; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters; and seven brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Fellowship Building Fund of Reedy River Baptist Church, 871 Highway 25 Bypass, Greenville, SC 29617.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon, prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family is at 207 Viewmont Drive, Greenville.
