OBITUARY

Monroe Calvin Ward, 72, of 8 Gridley St., Sans Souci, husband of Christine Speed Ward, died Saturday.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Cicero and Letha Gilbert Ward. He was a retired superintendent of Transmission Lines, Southern Division of Duke Power Company. He was with the company for forty-eight years.
He was a member and former deacon of Morgan Memorial Baptist Church. He was a member of Sam Poe Masonic Lodge and a l4th Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Also surviving are two sons, Curtis C. Ward of Greenville and Bobby L. Ward of San Juan, Puerto Rico; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Lister of Greenville; a Step-daughter, Mrs. Joyce Marriott of Stover, Mo., nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P. M. at Morgan Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
The body is at The Mackey Mortuary where the family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 until 8:30 P. M., and will be placed in the church Tuesday at l:30 P. M.
