Heaven needed a hero, so God called Jerry home. He loved his family most of all. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He respected and honored all. His love was special for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. No one will ever know how much he was loved and how much he will be missed by all of his family, his wife Shirley, most of all. He and Shirley were married for 60 ½ years. During that time, she took care of him, now, God will take care of him. Jerry also had a special love for his country. For 21 years, He served his country proudly as a member of the MS Army National Guard, retiring as a Sergeant Major. Jerry was a graduate of Sandersville High School and of the University of Southern Mississippi. He worked for Laurel Federal Savings and Loan and retired as Vice President and Internal Auditor after 31 years. In the early 60’s, Jerry helped to start the Ellisville Jaycees program and establish the little league program and ball fields. In the late 70’s, He served as leader of Boy Scout Troop 10 of Ellisville. He also enjoyed many years of service to Ellisville and the surrounding area as a member of the Ellisville Rotary Club and as a member of the J.P. Utility District. He was a member of Ellisville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.E. and Eva Kelly Adams; sisters, Helen Johnson, Winnie Robinson, and Lavada Bland and brothers, James Adams and Jack Adams.

Pallbearers will be Austin Hamm, Arthur Jalalzadeh, Heith Pickering, Shawn Taylor, Aaron Mahaffey and Robbie Ruffin.
