The Rosary for Mrs. Velma V. Mercer, 44, of 400 S. Monaco Parkway, will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at McConaty's Boulevard Mortuary, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church, 1314 Newport St. Burial will be in Fairmount.
Mrs. Mercer died Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Atchison, Kan., April 23, 1929. A registered surgical nurse, she received her nurse's training at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kan. She was married to Frank P. Mercer in Wichita July 15, 1950, and they moved to the Denver area in 1953. Mrs. Mercer was a member of St. James Parish.
Survivors include her husband; three sons; three daughters; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Boeh, Wichita; and a brother.
