Arthur W. Day, 75, died Sunday at his home on Lisle Hill following a long illness. Born May 23, 1896 in Wilmington, he was the son of Mason and Eva (Pike) Day. For 28 years he was a foreman at the New England Box Co., retiring in 1958. Prior to that he had been an engineer on the Boston & Maine Railroad and the Hoosick Tunnel-Wilmington Railroad for 22 years. He was a member of the Social Lodge of Masons. In 1915 he married the former Claire Breen. She died in 1970. He leaves a son, Cecil of Brattleboro; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Raymo of Wilmington; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Covey Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p.m. There are no visiting hours.
