Issac R. Esteb, aged ninety-three years, died at his home south of Centerville the past Monday. Funeral services were held at the home yesterday and interment made in the Centerville cemetery, Rev. S.C. Eshelman officiating.

Isaac Redden Esteb, son of John M. and Nancy J. Esteb, was born at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana, September 1st, 1828, and died at Centerville, Klickitat County, Washington, April 19th, 1922, at the age of 93 years 7 months and 9 days.

On February 25th, 1849, he was united in marriage to Nancy J. Sweeney. Five children were born to this union, two of them survive. Nancy J. passed away in April, 1863.

In 1853, he moved to Wayne County, Iowa, and in 1863 moved to the state of Missouri, where he resided until 1875, when he moved to Polk County, Oregon, and while there was united in marriage to Alice Rice on June 13th, 1877.

In October, 1883, he and family moved to Eastern Oregon, where he engaged in farming and blacksmithing, and was the first postmaster at the Gooseberry, Oregon.

In 1908 they moved to Portland, Ore., spending three and one-half years, when they again moved to Eastern Oregon, residing at Heppener until 1918, when they moved to Goldendale, finally moving to the home of his son, one year ago.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his widow, three children and a brother as follows:

S.O. Esteb and Fred R. Esteb, of Centerville and Eunice Keithley, of Moro County, Oregon; and John T. Esteb, a brother, of Kingston, Mo., besides a number of grand children. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Heppener, having obeyed the Call of his Savior in early manhood.
