Glen LaMar Holt, 84, of Springville, Utah died November 11, 2018 at his daughter’s house in Brigham City, Utah. Glen was born October 2, 1934 to Aaron Glen and Ida Mae Wolf Holt in Green River, Utah. He has a younger sister, Norma Jean Holt Hansen. He met his future wife, Janice Weight, in a high school speech class. They married on May 8, 1954 and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple May 4, 1955.

Glen worked many years as a Draftsman, Assistant Chief Draftsman, Chief Draftsman, and later as a consulting engineer using computer aided drafting skills, all in the Structural Steel Manufacturing industry. His job took him and his family from Springville to Provo to Granger (now part of West Valley City) Utah and then to Birmingham, Alabama, Lisle, Illinois, Bountiful, Utah, and Centerville, Utah. Retirement took him and his wife to Payson and finally back to Springville, Utah.

He thoroughly enjoyed genealogical research as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many responsible callings in the Church such as Dance Directors (with Janice), Scoutmaster, Bishop's Councilor, District High Council, and High Priest Group Leader. After their retirement they served as a couple in the Saint Louis, Missouri Family Search Program preparing documents to be microfilmed.

Glen loved to read and learn. He really enjoyed books and articles regarding family history sites. He had a sharp mind and enjoyed figuring out challenging and otherwise puzzling situations. His favorite yearly trip, when able, was to Green River, Torrey, and Fruita to visit ancestral cemeteries. If others went with him, they were treated to many interesting stories!

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice, by his parents, by a son in-law Arthur Christopher Dearing, and by a granddaughter Brenda Kaye Holt. He is survived by his 6 children and their spouses: Bruce (Mary Hansen), Karen (Robert Anderson), Janalee (Bruce Parker), Kelly (Shaula Parker), Chris (Catherine Johnson), and Owen (Louise Buchanan).

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Springville 9th Ward Chapel, 878 W Center Street, Springville, Utah. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah or at the Church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
