Mary E. Nurmi, 77, passed away Monday, November 12th, 2018 at Norway Center for Health and Rehab. She was born on August 3, 1941 to Wallace and Ella Russell. She attended schools in West Paris. Mary worked part time at the local shoe shop and was also a housekeeper at a motel and worked at a restaurant. She was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church. She loved gardening and yard sailing with her husband. Mary is survived by her son, Stanley Nurmi Jr., of West Paris; daughter Lisa Ann Nurmi of South Paris; two sisters, Beverly Knight and Maxine Corriveau. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Nurmi Sr.; brother Edwin Russell; sisters Winona Corriveau, Joan Brown and Judy Billings as well as a half brother Irving Herrick and half sister Winnifred Faulkner. A graveside service will be held on Thursday November 15th at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Route 26, South Paris.
