From the ROCHESTER NEWS-SENTINEL, Friday, June 12, 1959:

Mrs. Clarence (Virginist) Rentschler, 49, who resided a half-mile east of Fulton, died this morning at 1 o’clock in Woodlawn hospital, where she had been a patient three weeks. Death came after an 18-month illness.

Born Virginist Callaway on July 8, 1909, in Liberty township, she was the daughter of Howard P. and Lena Mathews Callaway. She had spent her entire life in the Fulton community. Her marriage was Jan. 19, 1929, near Fulton to Clarence Rentschler, who survives. Mrs. Rentschler was a member of the Fulton Baptist church, Order of Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She long had been active in church and community affairs.

Surviving, besides the husband, are four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Lettie Jane) Leininger, Fulton; Mrs. Oris (Mary) Baker, R.R. 6, Rochester; Mrs. Richard (Janice) Early, R.R. 6, Rochester, and Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Powlen, R.R. 6, Rochester; eleven grandchildren and one brother, Robert Callaway, Mishawaka.
