Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Juanita Calhoun, 87, of Hannibal, MO, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, MO. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Calhoun passed away on November 14, 2018 at the Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal, MO.
She was born on July 20, 1931 in Guilford, MO to William Henry and Mary Elizabeth Breit Throckmorton. She was married to Hurley Eugen Calhoun and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1983.
She is survived by a daughter, Nellie Cummins (Bill) of Hannibal, MO, 2 step-daughters, Karen Glascock (Kenny) of Hannibal, MO and Lois Roan of Louisiana, MO, a step-son, John Calhoun (Donna) of Hannibal, MO, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and cousins, Katherine Kirby, Vernon Kling, and Shirley Davis.
Mary had been employed at the Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She later had lived in Hull, IL for a number of years until moving to the Beth Haven Home in Hannibal, MO. She was a member of the Westside Christian Church in Hannibal, MO. She enjoyed country music, watching old western movies, and going to Kentucky Fried Chicken for a tenderloin, her favorite.
Memorials may be given to the Donor’s Choice in care of the funeral home.
