Edward James “Pappy” Sazenski, 72, of Reedsville passed away unexpectedly, at his home, on Friday November 9th 2018. Born on February 17th, 1946 in Morgantown a son of the late Edward John Sazenski and Emma Betty Hendershot. Jimmy joined the army in 1964; he received the Purple Heart for Service in Vietnam. He retired from Patriot Mining Company where he operated heavy equipment.
He is survived by his sister Janice (Sazenski) Benson and spouse James S. of Morgantown; much-loved nieces and nephews Lynette, Brian, and Zackery Bartlett of Powhatan Virginia; Toby, Jack, and Rheannon Foster of Kingwood; Jenna Smith of Morgantown; Jamie, Chad, Hadyn and Ava Snider of Bruceton Mills; Makara, Jason, and Brenden Hedrick of Morgantown; and Andrew Benson of Morgantown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Thomas C. Sazenski and sister Linda S. Batson.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday November 17th 2018 at Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville from 2 to 4 p.m. with an opportunity to share memories at 3:00. Graveside Services immediately following at Arthurdale Cemetery, full military honors will be accorded by the Honor Details from: West Virginia Army National Guard, Preston County VFWs, and the Vietnam Veterans of America chapter 977.
