Elbert Charles Baker, 84 of West Fork, AR went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, November 9, 2018 at his home in West Fork AR.
He was born September 6, 1934 in Leoti KS to Coy and Martha Baker.

Elbert retired from the U of A after 29 years of service, a career highlighted by Directing the Strawberry Experiment Station at Bald Knob, and he was awarded the Horticulture Department’s Distinguished Service award. He served his country for three years in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed spending his time helping other people including volunteering as Fire Chief in Velvet Ridge, Meals on Wheels, and First Baptist Church of West Fork’s Tuesday Morning Community Service Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Faye Schubarth.

He was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Syble Baker, brother Coy (Bud) Baker of Oark AR, sister Jeanette Pellham of Hagarville AR, three children: Lt Col Ray Baker, USAF (Ret) and his wife Billie Sue of Edmond OK, Candy Odglen and her husband Randy of Tontitown AR, Eileene Alsup and her husband Tim of Rogers AR, six grandchildren: Ashley Cardiel, Capt Billy Baker USAF, Angela Ketner, Lindsey Odglen, Brittany Alderson, Callie Kennedy and two great grandchildren, Esther and Lydia Ketner.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 17th starting at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of West Fork located at 246 N Centennial Ave, West Fork, AR 72774
