Mrs. Georgiou was born in Cyprus, November 9, 1950, daughter of the late Rev. Haralambos and Presbyteria Panagiota (Tsielepas) Papaioannou.
A resident of Bethel for the past 16 years coming from Long Island, N.Y., she was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
In addition to her husband Dr. Andreas Georgiou of Bethel; a son, Peter Georgiou of Bethel; a daughter, Harriette Georgiou of Bethel; two brothers, Leo Pappas and his wife Lea of Whitestone, Queens, N.Y. and Demetri Papacharalambous and his wife Chris of Flushing, Queens, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews, survive.
The Rite of Burial will take place on Friday at noon in the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury with the Rev. Peter Karloutsos, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Trisagion Prayer Service will be conducted in Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home this evening at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, 30 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, CT 06811.
