Mrs. Gladys Brinkley Hollar, 91, of Granite Falls, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 at Val-
dese Hospital after a period of declining health. Mrs. Hollar was born Sept. 5, 1914'
in Caldwell County to the late Lester G. and Leona Clay Brinkley.

She was a member of Grace Chapel United Methodist Church, and retired from Koh-
ler-Campbell Piano Co. Her passion in life was her love of flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam, Leonard
and Ted Brinkley; and two sisters, Gertrude Dula and Pauline Holt.

Surviving are her son, Jim Milligan and wife, Gail, of Granite Falls; her daughter, Sandra
Thompson of Asheboro; and two sisters, Pearl Winkler of Granite Falls and Margie Frye
of Sacramento, Calif. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jeffrey Milligan and wife, Chris-
ty, of Grace Chapel, Kevin Milligan and wife, Julie, of Granite Falls, and Tom Clouse, Lisa
Clouse and Andy Thompson and wife, Connie, all of Valdese; and two great-grandchild-
ren.

Funeral services for Gladys B. Hollar will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2996, at Oak
Grove Baptist Church in Granite Falls, with the Rev. Wayne White officiating. Interment
will follow in Grace Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in
Granite Falls.
