Harrison D. Taylor. Nearing 86 Years Dies; One of First Merchants of Home Town
Harrison D. Taylor, pioneer settler and early business man of Elma, died last Sunday evening of ailments attendant upon his advanced age. He would have been 86 years old had he lived until next Tuesday, having been born in Kentucky. June 22, 1829. Mr. Taylor came overland with ox team and settled in Elma in 1860. Five children survive: Mrs. J. B. Forbes of Puyallup; Mrs. M. E. Fredson of Shelton; Mrs. J. W. Bunn of Portland; H. R. Taylor of Elma, and W. D. Taylor of Whites. The funeral was held Tuesday.
