This is from the Floyd Times about the death of my Grandfather Frank Click who was the son of Doc and Amanda Click. His death has always been questionable. One theory is it may have stemmed from the school board meeting where his brother Wayne was killed. My mom was always told with the rest of the family he had been murdered and dumped there at the mouth of Arkansas Creek. Frank is buried there in the Click Cemetery at the home place where he was raised. Doc begged my grandmother Marie (Boyd) Click for the body of "his baby" so Doc could bury him close to him and other family. Marie finally gave in. Marie is buried in the Richmond Cemetery in downtown Prestonsburg, she never remarried. At the time of Frank's death Marie was pregnant with their youngest daughter Frankie Sue Click. The oldest daughter being my mom, Patsy Ann and then her sister Sandra Jean. Marie raised the three girls in Emma with the help of family members. Frank died in 1944. I put together a memory book of her father with the help of my cousin Rita Frasure for Mother's Day and she cried. She remembers his last day and the events that followed as if it were yesterday. She still mourns the loss of her "daddy" and the horrible pain he must have suffered. The death certificate reads, two broken legs, severe head trauma, severe internal injuries. The casket was closed at the funeral.
