Funeral service for Mrs. Marion Funchess Usrey Riley will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Forsythe Avenue Church of Christ with John Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe, LA.

Marion Funchess Usrey Riley, 93, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018. Marion was born in Oberlin, Louisiana, August 31, 1925. As a child, she moved with her family to Monroe in 1935.

Marion was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and Northeast Center of Louisiana State University, where she was a member of Purple Jackets. She was a charter member of the Forsythe Avenue Church of Christ, a member of Bayou Desiard Country Club, The Lotus Club, Monroe Symphony Orchestra, Little Theatre of Monroe, and Lifetime Member of Louisiana Delta Ballet. Marion was an avid duplicate bridge player, and laughingly said that she had "outlived five bridge clubs".

She is survived by her children, Thomas Usrey and wife Melanie of Monroe; and Linda Griffin and husband Tom of Lafayette; daughter-in-law, Mignon Riley of Monroe; grandchildren, Christopher Usrey and fiancée Katie Cabellero of Dallas Texas; Dr. Spencer Usrey and wife Jennifer of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; Elizabeth and husband Dr. Phillip Whitman of Lafayette; and Thomas Griffin of Fort Collins, Colorado; great grandchildren, Isabella and Gabriella Usrey, Ella, Caroline, and Jackson Usrey, Adam, Scott, Mae, Nora, and Marcus Whitman, and Annabelle Dore.

Marion is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Austin Funchess and Lurline Gaddis Funchess. Twice widowed, she is preceded in death by Johnnie Usrey, Jr. and Max Riley; sisters, Sybil Miller and Geraldine Funchess; and stepson, Mike Riley.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Usrey, Spencer Usrey, Steve Hendrix, Trent Crawford, Paul Benjamin, and Joe Casiday. Honorary pallbearers will be David Burkett, Jim Lockhart, Mike Walsworth, Bill Street and Bill Chapman.

Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Forsythe Avenue Church of Christ.
