"Poppie" Brucelee Edward Farrar MSgt, United States Air Force Retired passed away Monday, September 03, 2018 at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Florida at the age of 77 years old.

Bruce was born on the family farm on January 04, 1941 in Greenfield, Virginia. He was one of the five boys born to George Edward Farrar and Ileene Scott. His mom has said she was working on the family farm when she went into labor with him. She was ready to deliver when she got back into the house.

Bruce married Patricia Wolcheck in 1978 and had one daughter Catherine Regina Wood of Parkville, Maryland. He was a stepfather to three of Pat's children from a previous marriage. He loved them as his own and cared about them very much. He was proud of Theodore Horan of Towson, Maryland and thought of him as his own son. Patricia and Bruce divorced in 1985.

Bruce had three beautiful granddaughters and a handsome grandson. Sadly, Bruce lost his twin granddaughters Danielle Anne at 4 ½ months in 1997 and Catherine Rose at 18 months in 1998. Now Bruce is in Heaven rocking his Twin Girls for their mommy.

Bruce leaves behind two grandchildren Emilee-Marie Paige "Sunshine Girl" (age 16) and Richard Norman Wood Jr. "RJ" (age 4). Bruce loved his grandkids and would never stop talking about them. He was always telling his friends about what Sunshine Girl and RJ were up to. Bruce leaves the care of his grandchildren and daughter to the world's greatest son-in-law Richard Norman Wood Sr. of Parkville, Maryland. He admired Richard for his hard work and dedication to his job with the Baltimore City Fire Department as a Paramedic, plus his love for his family.

Bruce is also survived by his brothers Beryl and Beverly "Buddy" Farrar and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother Ileene Scott, his father George Edward, his brothers Bernard, and Berkley Farrar, his Aunt Virginia Harris on his dad side, and nephew Kevin Farrar, along with several friends.

Bruce joined the United States Air Force in his late teens to serve during the Vietnam War. Bruce worked as the Parts Supply Manager for Air Force One for the President of the United States and on Air Force Two for the Vice President along with other official planes. After retiring in his late thirties from Andrews Air Force Base he pursued a career in Warehouse Management.

During his retirement years in Sun City Center, Florida he enjoyed golfing with his buddies and going on vacation with his family at various fun locations. He was a guy to never sit still and always wanting to be on the go. He inspired his daughter Cassy's love for travel and visiting different locations. They would go off on many adventures while she was a child and into adulthood. He would never do dangerous things but would encourage his family to ride crazy rides and eat exotic foods. Bruce loved his friends and family and he will be missed greatly by them.

Military Service will be held for Bruce at Sarasota National Cemetery in coming months.
