I've questioned many times whether to create this Memorial as he ended his own life. From the Article you can see his last thoughts were of his wife Caroline. It's not known if he even knew he had a baby daughter Margaret. He Enlisted in 1861 & Margaret was born in June 1863, just 2 years old when her daddy died. In the 1870 Census you can see Caroline & Margaret living with his parents: Alexander Kennedy & Margaret Holbrook Kennedy and then in the 1880 Census Margaret is still with her grandparents while her mother Caroline is working as a Servant in the George & Susan Overby family home. Then in 1900 Caroline & Margaret come together once again this time in the home Margaret has made with her new husband John Bedford Purvis.....A family story that took a long time to piece together.
