CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Funeral services for Vernon Orlando Bloxam, 73, of Charleston, a former resident of Mattoon, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Caudill funeral home here. Burial will be in Mound cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Mr. Bloxam, a retired federal bank examiner, was found dead in a Peoria hotel Monday. He was on a business trip.
He was born October 31, 1892, in Mt. Auburn, a son of Arthur and Laura Scholes Bloxam. He married Zella Brown. The family resided in Mattoon about 10 years, leaving here about 10 years ago. They moved to Charleston from Peoria 3 1/2 years ago.
Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Burke, Charleston, and two granddaughters.
