William Ragan Styles, 84, of Bowdon, GA went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2014. He was born to the late Benjamin David ("BD") and Bertha Ragan Styles on April 27, 1929. Mr. Styles was the youngest of 16 children. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Imogene Knowles Styles. Mr. Styles graduated from Bowdon High School in 1948 and was a longtime member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. He was employed by Barnes Freight Line for more than 30 years and Atlanta Gas & Light where he served as a distribution supervisor for approximately 20 years. He retired in 1991. Upon retirement, Mr. Styles enjoyed driving his 1965 Ford Galaxie in all the local parades. He enjoyed throwing candy out to the children and was affectionately known as the "Candy Man" throughout the local communities. Mr. Styles, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, is survived by: his daughter and son-in-law, Kay and James Heard of Bowdon; son, Steve Styles of Bowdon; three grandchildren, Casie and John Hembree of Newnan; Crystal and Andrew Lovvorn of Carrollton, and Stephanie Styles of Hollywood, FL; four great-grandchildren, Anderson Hembree, Carson Hembree, Katelyn Hembree, and Lily Lovvorn; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Indian Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Ralph Caldwell officiating. The family will receive guests at Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
