Services for Richard "Roy" Leroy Baker, 94, Hettinger, who died Oct. 27, 1986, in the Hettinger hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Hettinger.
Visitation will be held from 1-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Walby Funeral Chapel, Hettinger, and one hour prior to services at the church.
He was born Oct. 4, 1892, at Grand River, Iowa, where he went to grade school. He married Pearl Irene Koch March 22, 1922 in Hettinger. She died in 1960. He was a life member of the American Legion Johnson-Melary Post 115. He was a past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and WWI Barracks of Hettinger.
He served during WW I in France from 1918-19. He also served on numerous school boards.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence E., Bismarck; Donald L., Mandan; and one sister Beulah O. Dela, Hettinger.
