Mr. Leon Lynn Thomas Jr., 32, of Baltimore, died Monday, September 23, at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore. Born Feb. 12, 1964, in Baltimore, he was a son of Leon Lynn Thomas Sr. of Frederick and Doris Bowie Snowden of Baltimore.
Mr. Thomas had worked as a cook in a nursing home and several restaurants. He was a graduate of John Cassablanca Modeling School, Towson, and had also worked as a model. He was a Methodist.
Surviving are two brothers, Jerome Snowden of Detroit, Mich., and Henry Lee Snowden of Baltimore; four sisters, Lisa Thomas, Treena Thomas, Anita Thomas and Mary Thomas, all of Baltimore; and aunts and uncles, Grace and Thomas Bowie, Austin and Esther Bowie, Reginald and Carla Bowie, and Francis Bowie, all of Frederick.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Austin and Nellie Bowie.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the Joseph L. Russ Funeral Home, 2222 W. North Ave., Baltimore. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at St. James AME Church, Bartonsville. The Rev. Diane Parker will officiate. Burial will in Bartonsville Cemetery. Repast will be held at the home of Lester Bowie in Bartonsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Joseph Bowie, 5947 Bartonsville Road, Frederick, Md. 21704.
