Fred Du Jardin, because his wife lift Him, swallowed a dose of Carbolic Acid.

Fred Du Jardin, driver of the Shasta mineral water wagon, committed suicide ot 149 Taylor street last night by swallow a dose of carbolic acid.

Du Jardin's rash deed is attributed to domestic trouble. He had been married seven years, and according 10 bis friends he had trouble with his wife for years, owing to lie. Bighty conduct. He was passionaely fond of her and their three year old d little girl, and told a friend who, a few days ago advisid him to apply for a divorce, that he could not do it for he loved her too much. He bought a home for her in Alameda, but two weeks ago she left him and went to live at 149 Taylor street. The little girl has been living with DuJardin'a mother. Last night Du Jardin called upon his wife, pleaded with her to come back to him anod the child too . She refused. Driven to desperation, he swallowed a botile of carbolic acid from his pocket and swallowed the Contents. The patrol wagon was summoned from the Central Police Station, but when it reached the Receiving Hospital DuJardiu had breathed his last, and body was sent to the Morgue. He was 33 years of age.
